Anyways, yesterday was the day... and i was so psyched that i did not sleep at all the night before yesterday and damn that was a stupid thing to do~ anyways, we went for Bangar, Temburong yesterday at 8am via boat which took an estimated time of 45 minutes and went from Bangar to Sumbiling via a very cool and extravagant tour bus which took an estimated 30 minutes. Our drop off was not exactly at Sumbiling, we had to walk for an estimated 20 minutes from the drop off to Sumbiling and once we've reached the actual Sumbiling Eco Village we rested there where some of us had a snack and a drink while others changed clothes and that included me cause i wore something more casual for the trip so i decided to change into a T-shirt and shorts cause i got a hunch that we were gonna get down and dirty and god dammit i was right...
Our actual trip or journey or adventure, whatever you wanna call it with crossing a river which was not at all deep, probably knee-high give or take in a very small boat. When we reached across we had to hike a very very very very very long trail in a forest, the hike almost killed me, with the catching-up with the guide, the burning hot sun and the very unstable trail i swear to lucifer that i burned a couple of pounds. We walked and walked and walked till we reached a river, and here where all the fun, adventure and pain starts...
once we reached the river, we totally let loose and just fooled around in it and the guides even brought us tubes where me along with others floated around in, it was very refreshing cause the river was well shaded, no sunlight in sight and it was very cold which totally felt good after spending time sweating and enduring the blistering hot sun. after cooling ourselves off, we were give an activity and damn it was bloody difficult, this is where the pain comes in...
We were given the task of building ourselves a raft with 2 tubes, some bamboo and rope that could carry 3 of our team members, 1 team had 10 members. i carried the bamboo while others helped meera tie the bamboo, when were done with our raft, we had to race with the other 3 teams along the river. the 3 that were on the raft needed to row the raft forward along the river while the other members help to accelerate the speed of the boat, easier said than done cause that river was a motherfucking bitch. the river bed was totally inconsistent, it was shallow, deep, shallow, very deep and shallow again. We really had to push really hard when it was shallow which caused me to trip and hit my knee on the rocks on the river bed. When it was deep, the ones who couldn't swim had to hold on to the raft and just go with the flow, this cause my legs to get scraped by the big ass mother fuckin wood on the river bed.
It was very difficult task, on many times i drifted away from my team when the river was really deep. It was also pretty scary especially when 1 of our own who was during that time on the raft and the river was fairly shallow fell overboard, when she fell she slammed her arm on the whatever thing that was on the river bed and due to the shock passed out for a while and thank god it was for a while cause i kinda got worried there for a minute. When she came to i breath of relief came out f me and she was escorted to a boat that brought her back directly to the Sumbiling Eco Village while the ones that were left continued with the so-called race. The river was very long so it took an ample amount of time to finally reach the finish point and along the way i hit plenty of deadwood and rocks that brought bruises to my legs.
The finish point of the raft race was actually a river bank near the finish point of our hike so we had to hike back along the previous trail all tired and soaking wet, we made the trail muddy and i fell plenty of times with mudd all over, seriously not a pleasant feeling plus i lost most of my energy at the river which made the hike almost unbearable but with a lot of slipping and sliding and also effort we reacher the river that we first crossed to get back to the village but this time we crossed it by foot cause it was shallow plus we wanted to clean ourselves off along the way. Before reaching the village we played around at the river as a las thing to do before we get ready to depart. Once we reached the village, everyone was super tired and there was food that was fixed for us, some ate first then showered, others did vice versa, i did the former because it was a pretty long wait before i was able to use the showers. Once everyone was full, clean and recharged we started our journey back to the drop off... then used the bus... then the boat...
The trip was awesome and i couldn't imagine anything better, what still sticks in my head was everyone's laughs and smiles during the whole trip. we joked around and helped each other a lot. what started as a trip with strangers that i've seen before but never known ended as a an exciting bonding trip with friends, i didn't expect to meet with such extraordinary characters on that day and i was very lucky that i did and get to share that experience with them... and fyi our trip ended when we reached BSB at 5 pm...
I think its best for me to upload the pics later cause i need to get the rest of the pics from a friend, only then will it be complete~ until then, Ciao~
